Nottingham Forest fans will be counting down the days until the Premier League returns, though the international break hasn’t been a waste for everyone as one player has impressed.

Nuno Espirito Santo has had the past week or so to work with a number of players at the Nigel Doughty training ground, with the opportunity to keep on climbing the Premier League table.

Nottingham Forest currently sit tenth in the table, a position that is just reward for the efforts of Nuno and his side, with one of the best defensive records in the top-flight.

Morgan Gibbs-White’s return is still up in the air after suggestions he could be involved against Crystal Palace.

However, Jota Silva’s has put in a couple of impressive performance and there have been calls from Nottingham Forest fans to see him more involved, so he could be an option.

There may be a big decision for Nuno to make on the defensive end too, as one player in particular has put in two top quality performance whilst away on international duty.

National media impressed by Neco Williams’ international display for Wales

Neco Williams has struggled to nail down a starting spot in the last few games for Nottingham Forest, as the likes of Ola Aina and Alex Moreno continue to get the nod.

However, the Wales international has been in inspired form for his country, as is often the case.

He was in action against Montenegro tonight, which ended in a 1-0 win for Wales.

Wales Online gave Neco Williams a glowing review last time out against Iceland, and they are impressed once again after his performance last night against Montenegro.

The defender got a 7/10 rating and they stated this.

“That right-hand side was a potent weapon for Wales and Williams was crucial to that. Linked so well with Wilson and Brooks down there.”

Neco Williams played the full 90 minutes for Wales last night.

He made two tackles, one clearance, won four duels, lost possession 13 times, committed two fouls, had 70 touches, a passing accuracy of 87%, made two key passes, one shot on target and one dribble.

Interestingly, Williams was hailed by the national media in his first game of the international break too, so he can’t do much more to force Nuno Espirito Santo’s hand.

His creativity going forward is something that Forest have been missing at times this season, and with Gibbs-White potentially not back yet, he could be the missing outlet.
