Nottingham Forest will still feel hard done by after the incidents that unfolded at Brighton, but there has been a development recently involving Rob Jones.

Rob Jones decided to hand Morgan Gibbs-White a second yellow card for a tackle against Brighton earlier on this season after some deliberation with Anthony Taylor.

The incident was looked at by an independent panel and they voted 3-2 in favour of the second yellow card being the wrong decision, but it couldn’t be overturned and Gibbs-White served his suspension.

However, that wasn’t the end of it as the reactions of Evengelos Marinakis, Nuno Espirito Santo and Gibbs-White earned them all suspensions, ranging from five to one game.

Now, it looks as if the Premier League have made a decision on the referee after he made another mistake this past weekend.

Premier League make a decision on Rob Jones

Rob Jones can be a really good referee on his day, but a couple of errors have creeped in recently.

His latest came in the match between Bournemouth and Arsenal at the weekend, where William Saliba was eventually sent off for the Gunners.

He decided not to send Saliba off for bringing down the Bournemouth striker as the last man, which was then overturned by VAR following an on-field review.

Now, with the Premier League releasing their referee appointments for matchday nine, Jones has been taken off refereeing duties.

However, he will be the fourth official for Brentford vs Ipswich and Chelsea vs Newcastle.

Nottingham Forest’s referee appointment to face Leicester

Nottingham Forest kick things off in matchday nine of the Premier League with a trip to the King Power Stadium to face Steve Cooper‘s Leicester City.

The Foxes were tipped as relegation candidates prior to the start of the season, but they’ve exceeded expectations and have a healthy gap over the bottom three.

Interestingly, the referee for the clash will be Craig Pawson. His assistants will be Eddie Smart and Nick Greenhalgh, and the fourth official is Darren Bond. Paul Tierney is on VAR with Harry Lennard his assistant.
