Nottingham Forest are in action on Friday night with a short trip to face Steve Cooper’s Leicester City.
Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side have been in fine form this season with the Reds sitting in the top half of the table following their result on Monday.
It has been a quick turnaround for Forest following their victory on Monday night against Crystal Palace at the City Ground.
Forest are still carrying a number of injury issues with Morgan Gibbs-White still struggling through his respective injury woe.
However, there has now been some potentially encouraging news to emerge from Danilo following his significant injury problem.
Danilo injury update
The 2024/25 could not have gotten off to a worse start for midfielder Danilo who suffered a significant ankle injury against Bournemouth.
Forest have been without their midfielder ever since with the Brazilian undergoing surgery to correct the injury sustained.
But it now seems as if the 23-year-old could well be closing in on his return to the City Ground.
On Friday morning, the midfielder posted on his Instagram story with an update of his rehab taking place away from the pitch.
Although Danilo may not quite be back on the training pitch, he is taking part in individual rehab with work going on in the swimming pool.
The midfielder can be seen jumping up and down in the pool whilst also jogging on the spot under the support of the water.
Forest have real competition in midfield
Ideally, Forest would have the likes of Danilo available for selection having started the Brazilian in their opening game of the season.
However, his absence has allowed the likes of Elliot Anderson to show his ability under Nuno among others.
James Ward-Prowse was also brought into the club following the injury to Danilo which has only bolstered their options available.
With this in mind, Forest will be able to slowly integrate Danilo back into action when he is ready to make his return to action.
