What Nottingham Forest fans were chanting about Steve Cooper during win over Leicester

Steve Cooper had a very unhappy time of things against his former club, and Nottingham Forest fans let out a brilliant chant about their former boss.

It was a rather end-to-end game with both sides having chances in the first half, but Nottingham Forest really stepped up the pace in the second half.

The difference on the night was the prolific finishing of Chris Wood, who helped make the most of the 20 shots the Reds had on goal with a second half brace.

That’s seven goals in nine games this season for Wood, who has even earned the praise of Nuno Espirito Santo for being an ‘amazing’ part of the team.

However, it was Steve Cooper who was the subject of chants from Nottingham Forest in the second half, which rubbed salt into the wounds of the former boss.

Nottingham Forest fans’ chant for Steve Cooper

Steve Cooper has a problem when it comes to his Leicester City side conceding goals, as that’s now four in two games.

But, he didn’t help himself before the game as he put a jinx on Chris Wood, bringing up his goalscoring ability which proved to be the downfall for the Foxes.

Interestingly, Nottingham Forest took the opportunity to let out a song about their former boss with the lead at two goals, and it caused quite the reaction online.

It went something like…

“Stevie Cooper … Stevie Cooper … He hates the Leicester, he hates the Derby, Forest are magic.”

What’s next for Nottingham Forest?

Nottingham Forest’s Premier League campaign is about to get whole lot harder over the next month or so, with Newcastle United, Arsenal Manchester City and Manchester United coming in the next six games.

To sit in fifth position is a fantastic achievement at this point in the season after nine games, and what makes it even better is the fact that the Reds still have the second best defence.

Jamie Vardy did breach the defence at the King Power Stadium, but Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo were generally untroubled on the night.
