Ryan Yates is often the topic of heated conversation among Nottingham Forest supporters.
The Reds midfielder is the captain of a Premier League club these days and nobody can take that away from him.
In his maiden campaign as a top-flight footballer, Yates was praised by Jamie Carragher for his work out of possession.
There have been times when he’s not been considered the first choice and this season he didn’t start during the first game.
However, injuries and suspensions have seen all roads lead back to Yates and once again he’s now a mainstay in the team.
Yates has taken things on board from the likes of James Ward-Prowse at Forest and he’s now one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Ryan Yates shares next milestone he wants to get at Nottingham Forest
The captain has already played in the top five leagues of English football – but there is one scratch that he’s desperate to itch.
Forest will face West Ham on Saturday and after his goal last weekend against Leicester, Yates is desperate to get on the goal trail.
A Premier League goal at the City Ground has alluded him so far and he shared – albeit tongue in cheek – what he will do if he does get that milestone ticked off.
he said on the Shut Up and Show More Football podcast: “You know what, I want that Premier League goal at the City Ground, that’s what I want. And you know what, if it’s not a bad day, a few us, we’ll go in (The River Trent), why not?! Until then, we’ll wait.”
Yates commanding respect with Forest performances
As a central midfield player in the Premier League, Yates is extremely limited still but that’s not a problem.
Nuno Espirito Santo recognises that and typically pairs him with someone who is capable of moving the ball forward quicker than Yates can.

The Forest captain understands his limitations these days and his better performances have come when he’s stuck to what he knows he can do – rather than focus on what he can’t.
Every challenge that Yates has faced at Forest, he’s overcome with flying colours. Now as fans, we hope to see the midfielder running off with his arms aloft after scoring for the club at the City Ground in the Premier League.
