Nottingham Forest have a lot to thank Chris Wood for this season, but he’s more focused on praising one of his teammates in a recent interview.
Nuno Espirito Santo has a tough run of fixtures coming up, which will really test just how good his Nottingham Forest side are, with West Ham, Newcastle, Arsenal, Manchester City and Aston Villa all coming up in the next seven games.
One man who will play a vital part during that period is Chris Wood. He’s joint-third in the goalscoring ranks in the Premier League this season, bagging seven in nine games.

There have been rumours that Wood is set for a new deal at Nottingham Forest, but Nuno Espirito Santo refused to talk too much on it in his press conference.
He’s taken his time out to talk to the club in an interview with Glenn Murray ahead of the West Ham game, and he spoke very highly of one of his teammates.
Chris Wood says Nottingham Forest have an ‘outstanding talent’
Chris Wood is right, Forest do currently have a number of outstanding talents, from Zach Abbott to Murillo, but they aren’t the players he was talking about.
The New Zealand international talked about a player who he has a much closer bond with both off the field and on the field.

That’s right, Morgan Gibbs-White is the player Wood just can’t speak highly enough of.
Speaking to the Nottingham Forest YouTube channel, the striker believes that Gibbs-White will go on to achieve ‘massive’ things in the game.
“Morgan, obviously, we have to try and play close together; we are very defensive mined together, working together. He is an outstanding talent and he’s shown why he’s in the England squad and why he should be there consistently.
“A guy that we’ve worked on forming a relationship on the pitch and off the pitch, and yeah, he likes to play the ball forward; he always wants to play that attacking ball, which as a striker is what you want because you want to get chances in front of goal.
“So he’s a fantastic number 10 and he’s going to obviously go on some massive things in the game.”
What is the latest on Morgan Gibbs-White?
Morgan Gibbs-White hasn’t featured in the last few games due to injury.
He’s getting better working alongside the club doctor, but there’s still an uncertainty about whether Gibbs-White will feature against West Ham.
To be fair, Elliot Anderson and Jota Silva have made Gibbs-White’s absence manageable, as the attacking midfield role is a position that Anderson dealt with at Newcastle and Bristol Rovers.
There really is no rush to bring Gibbs-White back with results going the way of the Reds.
