Nottingham Forest are riding the crest of a wave now having won a third match in succession at the weekend.

The Reds thrashed West Ham 3-0 at the City Ground to climb to third place in the Premier League table.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been serving a three-match touchline ban with Forest winning every game whilst he’s been in the stands.

Forest have had a number of standout performers during the 2024/25 campaign so far.

At the weekend, Shay Given gave Chris Wood a new nickname that’s hilarious, while pundits change their opinions on Forest every week.

Even Gary Lineker has raved about Forest this week and as a Leicester fan that must have really hurt him.

On Saturday, West Ham were despatched with relative ease as Wood, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ola Aina netted against the Hammers.

It was once again a sold team performance and there was one moment that encapsulated what Forest are thinking these days.

Elliot Anderson masterstroke spotted during Forest win

Last week, Gary Neville raved about Anderson after Forest beat Leicester but he was on the bench for the game against West Ham.

Espirito Santo explained that it was his intention to play Morgan Gibbs-White with Anderson recovering from a minor injury.

It didn’t take long for Anderson to get in among the major plays when he was introduced.

Just one minute after coming on the pitch, he lined up a free-kick in a wide area and he was extremely meticulous in his approach.

Anderson claimed the assist for Hudson-Odoi to score his second goal of the campaign but it was what he did before that was so good.

He was spotted on the live cameras telling Ryan Yates to block Michail Antonio off to allow Hudson-Odoi more space.

It proved to be a masterstroke with the winger having more time to pick his spot and score another goal in his trademark style.

Espirito Santo now has huge conundrum for Newcastle clash

With Gibbs-White now fit for action, Espirito Santo has work to do when it comes to picking his team for Sunday’s big game.

Anderson won’t want to miss the chance to turn out against his former club and he’s been playing well in the absence of Gibbs-White.

The youngster will really want to showcase what he’s been playing like to his former club and it could be a big afternoon for him.

That said, Gibbs-White is one of the most integral players and ultimately, the fact that both players are fit gives the head coach a huge conundrum.
