Gary Neville has been full of praise for Nottingham Forest already this season, and now he’s listed four players who are ‘exciting’ him at the City Ground.

It’s not often you see so much praise coming the way of Nottingham Forest, as it’s predominantly been doom and gloom fighting to stay up in seasons gone by.

However, the times are changing at the City Ground, and Evangelos Marinakis’ dream of bringing European football to Nottingham could yet become a reality.

Jeff Stelling has failed to rule out a finish in the European places for Nottingham Forest this season, but it certainly won’t be an easy task.

Newcastle United is up next for Nuno Espirito Santo, and his side will really show fans exactly how serious Forest are this season, especially as they head into this one fresh off beating Arsenal.

Ahead of the game, Gary Neville has been speaking about a number of Nottingham Forest players that have excited him this season.

Gary Neville singles out five Nottingham Forest players who have excited him in the Premier League

Nottingham Forest fans didn’t give Gary Neville the best of receptions when he was on Sky Sports duty during the Leicester City clash recently.

Despite this, Neville has been quite positive in his predictions for Nottingham Forest, stating that they’ll finish in at least mid-table this season.

Now, when speaking on the Overlap US YouTube channel, Gary Neville has singled out Elliot Anderson Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi for praise.

“They’ve got such exciting players that are in and around Chris Wood. You look at sort of the likes of Hudson-Odoi, Anthony Elanga, and Morgan Gibbs-White. The boy Anderson I really like.

“So if you look at those players, they’re exciting, they’re really going to win you football matches.”

Other notable mentions at Nottingham Forest

We can’t forget about the defensive side of things at Nottingham Forest, with the Reds currently holding the second-best record in the Premier League.

Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic are up there as the best central defensive partnership in the Premier League this season, alongside Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk.

Ola Aina and Alex Moreno both deserve honourable mentions. The former has been just as good when playing at right-back this season, and even chipped in with a fine strike against West Ham.

Nicolas Dominguez and Ryan Yates have been the unsung heroes in the side, often putting in the dirty work that goes unnoticed when Chris Wood is making the headlines with his goals.
