Ryan Yates has developed into a fan favourite at Nottingham Forest, and fans will love him even more after seeing his reaction to the Gary Neville chants.

Nottingham Forest had a brilliant day out at the King Power Stadium last Friday, with three points coming the way of the Reds in the East Midlands derby.

Chris Wood was the star of the show once again, grabbing a brace which moved him even closer to Erling Haaland, as well as Bryan Roy in the Forest goalscoring charts.

Alan Shearer even came out to praise Wood for his performance and start to the season, stating that he’s in the ‘form of his life’ at the City Ground.

However, one other player who’s been just as valuable this season is Ryan Yates, and he gave a classy interview on Sky Sports after the game.

Gary Neville is a bit of a villain at times in the punditry scene, but a great laugh either way.

Interestingly, Neville is actually turning into a bit of a Nottingham Forest fanboy, predicting a top half finish at least for the Reds after the impressive start to the season.

However, the fans teased him at the King Power Stadium on Friday night, breaking out into song about the former Manchester United defender.

Now, we can’t give you the exact words, but it went a little bit like ‘Gary Neville is a…’.

This was highly amusing for Ryan Yates, who had a back and forth with Neville on Sky Sports.

Jamie Carragher asked Yates.

“Who’s more popular, him (Neville) or me”.

Yates responded.

“Oh Gary. Did you hear what they were saying there?”

All whilst letting out a chuckle and pointing to the away section.

Gary Neville’s compliments for Nottingham Forest

Interestingly, Gary Neville actually used Nottingham Forest as an example to grill Howard Webb on a handball rule where defenders have to tuck their arms behind their body recently.

It’s nice to see pundits calling out Webb and VAR, especially after the issues that Forest fans have already experienced so far this season.

However, Neville didn’t impress many Nottingham Forest fans with his assessment of PSR earlier on this year, as he came out to speak on the matter involving Manchester United, but stayed quiet when the Reds were going through all their issues.
