Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood is currently playing out of his skin.
The talisman has picked up this season where he left off in 2023/24 by scoring eight goals in 10 matches.
His form has propelled Forest to third in the Premier League table and expectations are being exceeded every week.
Wood was handed a cheeky new nickname by Shay Given last week and he’s a player in truly amazing form at the moment.
At 32-years-old the player is in the form of his life and Forest are considering a new contract for Wood in the near future.
Forest signed Wood for £15 million and upon his arrival received praise from Eddie Howe.
His signing was initially met with angst from the supporters but he’s not just one goal away from equaling Bryan Roy’s record as the club’s top Premier League goalscorer.

Chris Wood wins PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award
This is a fantastic achievement and shows that football fans are starting to give Wood the credit he deserves.
Naturally, lots of Forest fans will have bombarded the voting page but it’s a great achievement nonetheless.
Wood’s form in October was sensational. He grabbed a number of goals and helped the Reds claim plenty of points.
The striker is keeping Taiwo Awoniyi out of the team at the moment and it’s very healthy that he’s staying on the goal trail.
Wood has claimed the accolade ahead of plenty of other players and it’s brilliant to see Forest getting some rewards for a fine start to the season.
Morgan Gibbs-White reacts to Chris Wood accolade
Wood is part of the leadership group at Forest and clearly, he’s rated highly by his teammates.
Any football wants acceptance from their peers and it would appear as though Wood has got it in bucket loads at Forest.
After the winner of the award was announced as Wood, Gibbs-White posted on his Instagram story.
His two-word response simply said: “Congrats partner.”
| Opposition | Goals |
| vs Chelsea – D1-1 | 1 |
| vs Crystal Palace – W1-0 | 1 |
| vs Leicester City – W3-1 | 2 |
Wood and Gibbs-White are striking up a nice relationship on the pitch and there is more to come from the duo.
Forest have a brilliant squad of players this season and it’s great to see that the strength in depth have gone to a different level.
Wood bagged 14 goals last season and he’s well on course to break that this time around in his current form.
Something tells us that this might not be the last award that Forest star Wood claims this season.
