Pundit admits to possibly the worst Nottingham Forest prediction anyone in the media has made so far

A lot of pundits have come out the woodworks to apologise to Nottingham Forest after their fine start to the season, and now there’s another to add to the list.

Nottingham Forest have surprised everyone with their start to the season, but it’s been fully justified with pretty much every performance warranting a positive result.

Nuno Espirito Santo is even up for the Premier League Manager of the Month award for October, despite not even managing his side for a few games.

He’s done it with Wolves and it looks like he’s working his magic once again at Nottingham Forest, with a European place now a realistic target for the Reds.

However, this certainly wasn’t the target for many pundits or even Nottingham Forest before the current campaign started.

Mark Schwarzer admits to picking Nuno Espirito Santo as the first manager to be sacked this season

Gary Lineker recently came out and admitted to his mistake having predicted for Nottingham Forest to be one of the sides relegated from the Premier League this season.

He isn’t the only one, as Sam Matterface was also of the same relegation prediction for Forest.

Now it’s the turn of a former Premier League player to admit to his mistake, and this just may be the worst one we’ve heard yet.

Mark Schwarzer now operates as a pundit for Optus Sport, and when speaking on a recent podcast of theirs, he admitted to picking Nuno Espirito Santo as the first manager to be sacked this season.

“I certainly will hold my hand up. I thought he’d (Nuno) be the first manager to get sacked this season, but are flying and they’re now third in the table.

“They had a convincing win against West Ham. Yes it was West Ham, but they’re still winning games.”

Couldn’t have been a worse prediction from Schwarzer

The fact that Nuno Espirito Santo was tipped to be the first manager sacked this season is crazy to look at in hindsight, given the start to the season. Maybe we can cut him some slack for the way Nottingham Forest were at times last season and flirting with relegation.

But to see him pick Nottingham Forest over Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich as the team to be in the most trouble is mind-boggling.

That’s pundit number 167 that’s now been proven wrong by Forest this season…
