Nottingham Forest have shocked everyone around the Premier League this season with their sensational start to the season.
With the final international break of the year coming up next week, Nuno Espirito Santo could secure his side a spot in third place with a win over Newcastle United.
Forest’s impressive form has seen an all round improvement at the City Ground but there have been some seriously special performances.
One of them has been Chris Wood who has been names Player of the Month for the Premier League in October.
And former Premier League manager Sam Allardyce has admitted the New Zealand striker is now proving everyone wrong.

Sam Allardyce hails Chris Wood’s Nottingham Forest form
Wood has been in stunning form this term with a staggering return of eight goals in his opening 10 Premier League games.
Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Allardyce has hailed Wood’s start to the season under Nuno.
“Shut everybody up, hasn’t he. I mean, like, you know: ‘he’s not good enough for the Premier League’ and all that jargon that’s been going around,” said Allardyce.
“I mean, he did it with Burnley. You know what I mean, don’t forget Sean Dyche – everybody forgets – he took Burnley into Europe.
“I mean, you know, people seem to forget about that, like you mean, I think he’s good.”
Although this was solid praise from Allardyce, it is not quite the same as Elliot Anderson comparing Wood to Ronaldo.

Chris Wood’s incredible record under Nuno Espirito Santo
Since landing at Forest, Wood has shown some incredible form having netted 57% of their league goals this season.
But it is under Nuno which Wood has really shone with Troy Deeney noticing a difference in Wood’s physicality in a Forest shirt.
| Wood under Nuno | Goals | Assists |
|---|---|---|
| 2023/24 | 11 | 1 |
| 2024/25 | 6 | 0 |
Wood has already enjoyed a meeting against his former side Leicester City last month where he bagged a brace at the King Power Stadium.
And he will be looking for a similar return on Sunday when Forest welcome the Toon to the City Ground.
