Nottingham Forest enjoyed a very fruitful transfer window this summer with 11 new players added to the squad.
Two of those – David Carmo and Marko Stamenic – joined Olympiacos on loan and largely it was a case of quality over quantity for Forest.
There was a blemish on the recruitment drive, however, with no striker added to the ranks.
It certainly wasn’t through a lack of trying from a Forest perspective.
Santiago Gimenez rejected Forest on three occasions, making his final decision just days before the transfer deadline.
There was also Eddie Nketiah who chose to join Crystal Palace instead of Forest after chatting with Oliver Glasner.
Ahead of the deadline, Forest made an ambitious move for Omar Marmoush but he chose to stay with Eintracht Frankfurt.
In the end, Forest decided not to pursue a striker with Nuno Espirito Santo advising Evangelos Marinakis not to panic ahead of the deadline.
It was the deal for Gimenez that felt like the closest to being done by Forest.
Now, a report has made an intriguing suggestion about the valuation of the Feyenoord striker.

Report claims Santiago Gimenez valuation has now increased
Forest were willing to part with £30 million to sign the Mexican performer but now the valuation could be considerably higher.
That is according to CIES Football Observatory who produce reports based on statistics involving players.
This weekend one has been released on the market values of players across Europe and Gimenez features.
It’s claimed that he could now be worth between £39 and £52 million to any club who wants to try and sign him.
Given that Gimenez is only 23-years-old, that is quite understandable but the fact he’s hardly played this season makes it seem somewhat strange.
Shortly after choosing to stay at Feyenoord, Gimenez was struck down with an injury.
He’s now actually scored since that move went south and is now facing a fight to get fit once again.
Forest must now forget Gimenez and pursue other options
With Chris Wood in great goalscoring form, there is nothing that suggests Forest are desperate for a striker.
Bringing in a younger player with the potential to replace Wood eventually would be ideal but for now, it’s not a major priority.
Gimenez is perhaps one to scrub off the list.
Ultimately, the striker made his bed in the summer and although nobody would have wished an injury on him, he might be regretting his decision.
Although the Mexican has a nice profile in terms of a player that Forest might look for, there are just too many factors counting against him now.
The Reds have to compile a list of other striker targets and hope that one can come to fruition in the summer perhaps.
