Chris Wood has caught the attention of everyone at Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this season, and he even has some of the biggest pundits in disagreements over him.
It’s safe to say that Nottingham Forest‘s fine start to the season has been made possible by the goals Chris Wood has provided, with eight to his name so far.
Interestingly, Karen Carney and Michael Owen agreed that Chris Wood is the most improved player in the Premier League, and we have to agree.
No one would have predicted quite the goalscoring streak Wood has gone on, let alone where Nottingham Forest currently find themselves in the table.
Well, Paul Scholes got into a bit of a disagreement with Roy Keane over the New Zealand international when talking about the surprise package of the season in the Premier League.

Paul Scholes think Chris Wood has been the surprise package in the Premier League
Leon Osman has claimed Chris Wood is the best in the Premier League right now.
Wood is still clearly bang in form as he bagged five goals in two games during the international break for New Zealand, albeit it was against relatively low ranked nations.

Of course, we all know and expect goals from Wood nowadays, but that isn’t the same for everyone and certainly not Paul Scholes.
Speaking on the Overlap, Scholes straight away felt Chris Wood has been the surprise package in the Premier League so far, but Keane wasn’t really having it.
Scholes said.
“It’s got to be Chris Wood.”
Keane replied.
“But are we surprised by him? I think he’s been excellent for years, scoring many goals.”
Chris Wood is gathering new nicknames this season
Chris Wood’s rise in form has brought about a new nickname.
Most recently, a New Zealand commentator has started to call Wood the ‘Sheriff of Nottingham’.
Quite a good one actually, and a reward for his hard work for both club and country.
Nottingham Forest are prioritising a new deal for Wood, so yet more rewards could come his way.
