Chris Wood has shocked the nation with his goalscoring in the current campaign, and now the Nottingham Forest striker is being compared to Harry Kane.
Typically players get slower and worse as they get older, but the opposite is happening to Chris Wood as he enjoys one of the most prolific seasons in his career yet.
Nottingham Forest have benefitted massively from his performances in the current campaign, sitting joint on points with third position after 11 games.
Wood has earned comparisons to Alan Shearer and Didier Drogba already, which shows just how well he’s played so far this season.
Now, Harry Kane is the latest world-class player being likened to Wood, and it happens to be an England legend who is making the comparison.

David Seaman says Chris Wood reminds him of Harry Kane
David Seaman won’t have pleased Nottingham Forest fans too much with his cheeky dig and prediction for the Arsenal game this weekend.
However, this could go a long way to smoothing things over.
Leon Osman named Chris Wood the best player in the Premier League right now earlier on this week, and there were other calls for him as the surprise package.
Speaking on his podcast, Seaman Says, the England legend stated that Wood is reminding him of Harry Kane with how he operates up top.
“You know the goals he’s getting are all sorts of different goals, which reminds me quite a lot of Harry Kane. You know the finishes he’s got because he’s got everything there, you know, he’s got the headers, he’s got, you know, side feet, pings, everything.”
Harry Kane’s outstanding record
As well as earning his scoring record for both Spurs (280) and England (69), Kane is the second highest of all-time goalscorer in the Premier League on 213 goals.
He broke a Premier League record for scoring 30 or more goals in two separate 38-game seasons also.
In Germany he’s also been a menace. Kane achieved 30 goals in his first season in just 25 matches – for which is seven games quicker than Erling Haaland.
Another record to his name is the most amount of goals in a first Bundesliga season, as he broke the previous record of 31 with 36 in the 2023-2024 campaign.
