Nottingham Forest still have seven games to play before the January transfer window, with results possibly dictating what happens in that month.

The Reds currently find themselves in seventh position in the Premier League, but a tough upcoming run could soon change that if Nottingham Forest fail to ensure consistency.

It starts this weekend with Ipswich Town, who are no pushovers.

Alan Shearer has predicted a win for Nottingham Forest in front of their home fans, which would be much-needed for Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side.

However, Paul Merson believes it will be a draw.

Outside of Premier League action, it appears as if Nottingham Forest are working on things on the transfer front, with a potential January target emerging.

Nottingham Forest could target Riquelme Fillipi in January

Nottingham Forest were confident of signing Riquelme Fillipi in the summer, but it never materialised.

He’s an 18-year-old Brazilian, and it was believed he could be signed for £5m.

It has been claimed that he could be a potential January transfer target, though any move would be with a view to the future for Nottingham Forest.

According to Athletic, ‘If’ remains the keyword for now, but Riquelme Fillipi has turned 18, so a move would be more straightforward if they resurrect their interest in the academy player.

It’s been claimed that Riquelme has based his game around Brazilian star Neymar Jr, who he labelled as his role model when growing up.

He has some versatility about him too, as he can operate as a centre-forward, as well as a winger (as per O Globo).

“I am a very fast player who likes to dribble.

“I always try to pay special attention to my finishing and, regarding positioning, I can adapt to different formations. Modern football demands this versatility. So I can play as a winger, mainly on the left side, as well as a centre-forward.”

At just 18 years old, the sky really is the limit and Murillo’s rise at Nottingham Forest is surely another reason to take a risk on the youngster.
