Nottingham Forest returned to winning ways against Ipswich Town at the weekend following back-to-back defeats to Arsenal and Newcastle.
Forest secured the win thanks to Chris Wood’s ninth goal of the campaign and right now the team sit sixth in the Premier League.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 6 | 13 | 6 | 4 | 3 | 16 | 13 | 3 | 22 |
Forest have some tough games to come now and it was vitally important that a win was secured at the City Ground yesterday.
Wood has now drawn level with Bryan Roy on 24 Premier League goals for the club and is now one away from standing alone at the top of that chart.
He was in fine form again yesterday and stepped up in a composed fashion to settle a pretty drab top-flight clash.
Once again there were a number of top performers from a Forest perspective with things starting to feel rather exciting about this season.

Nottingham Forest star proving his Evangelos Marinakis’ best ever signing
Let’s not beat around the bush, this was a really poor game of football considering it was played as part of a Premier League season.
However, one thing that Forest cannot be denied is that the team have improved considerably from last season when it comes to the team’s rearguard.
Nuno Espirito Santo has worked tirelessly in the summer and quite clearly the team’s defensive unit was something he grew really tired of last season.
One player who was in fine form yet again was Ola Aina and his performances continue to get better with each passing week.
Marinakis has worked hard to change the club’s perception when it comes to recruitment and certainly over the last couple of years things have been in the up.
Okay, Forest have signed better and more glamorous footballers than Aina but pound for pound, poaching the versatile full-back for free is arguably his best addition.
Aina is valued at £8 million by Forest but should he pen a new contract on Trentside that validation will comfortably shoot up over £20 million at the very least.
Ola Aina in number vs Ipswich Town
Very often the 28-year-old is quietly going about his business but that doesn’t mean that his numbers aren’t impressive too.
Yesterday, he threw himself into everything that came his way and ultimately, he proved once again what a quality signing he is.
Who Scored shows that he won the most tackles of any Forest player with four during the 90 minutes and also got the highest average rating of 7.79.
Aina made two interceptions and three clearances, with his defensive contributions proving useful as Forest held on for three points.
Now, the Reds simply have to get that contract sorted and Marinakis can’t let his best ever signing walk away for free next summer.
