Storm Darragh continues to wreak havoc across the United Kingdom, and Manchester United have now released a statement on the Manchester United clash.

There’s already been a major postponement in football today, as Everton’s clash with Liverpool in the Merseyside derby is having to be rescheduled.

The winds on Merseyside were scheduled to be around 70mph, which is different to the 45mph winds scheduled to be around at kick-off time at Old Trafford.

Nottingham Forest will have travelled already to Manchester and be posted up in a hotel, so there are no immediate travel concerns for them, it’s more the safety of the supporters.

It’s vital to keep an eye out for any updates and weather warnings, as these conditions aren’t to be taken lightly, with an official still yet to be made on the game.

However, we have had an update for now, and it’s good news for supporters.

Both sides will be looking to return to winning ways after losses midweek, as Forest were handsomely defeated at the Etihad not so far away.

A European place is very much still in sight, but Nottingham Forest fans have been calling for a change in tactic having seen their side be too defensive of late.

The official update from Manchester United is good news for those thinking of travelling to the game for this evening’s clash, though nothing is set in stone.

Manchester United Matchday posted the update on their X account, and it states.

‘Today’s Premier League fixture at Old Trafford between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest is scheduled to go ahead as planned.

‘The club will continue to consult the relevant authorities throughout the day and will update supporters immediately if anything changes.

‘We understand that fan travel will be disrupted by the weather so this fixture will not be included in the minimum number of games a season that season tickets must be used.’

The games against Aston Villa, Brentford away and Tottenham at home stand out as the most difficult of the lot, with the Bees unbeaten at home, whilst Spurs and Villa are in and around the European places.

This will be a telling period for Forest as they look to make Evangelos Marinakis’ dreams of returning to Europe come true.
