Evangelos Marinakis is making moves at Nottingham Forest as he looks to grow the club, with Lina Souloukou one of the latest additions.

Nottingham Forest are on course to make Evangelos Marinakis’ dream of European football at the City Ground come true.

The Reds currently sit in fifth position in the Premier League after an impressive 3-2 win away at Manchester United last time out.

However, Aston Villa, Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur are up next, before a slightly easier run of games against sides all inside the bottom three.

Marinakis has realised the promising position his side are in and is making moves to hopefully build on that off the pitch, as he recently hired Lina Souloukou.

What Lina Souloukou’s role will be at Nottingham Forest

Marinakis has already called upon Edu to help his multi-club model, as he looks to push through the purchase of Vasco de Gama over in Brazil.

However, his latest move is more aimed at improving Nottingham Forest specifically.

Lina Souloukou has enjoyed previous roles at AS Roma and Olympiacos, so she knows the Nottingham Forest owner very well and they’ve built a good relationship.

According to La Repubblica (as per Sport Witness), Marinakis is looking to add her to the team at the club in a role that will see her ‘work closely’ with Ross Wilson and Miran Pavlin.

It’s stated she’s ‘ready to bring her management expertise’ to the Premier League and her appointment is seen as a further step towards ‘increasingly ambitious and structured management’ at the club.

Immediate action in the January transfer window

The January transfer window is right around the corner and Marinakis has already revealed his plans to invest where he can at Nottingham Forest.

A Sky Sports reporter said.

‘His determination to make Forest an established part of the Premier League “Big Six”, and how he is keen to re-invest in January to try to make that happen.’

Souloukou could have a big part to play in this, having helped look at potential targets during her time at AS Roma, though that may be more of a job for Ross Wilson.

One player who could be of interest is Tammy Abraham, who would provide quality support to Chris Wood and boost the competitiveness with Taiwo Awoniyi.
