It’s been quite a season so far for Nottingham Forest as Nuno Espirito Santo has supporters dreaming of the Champions League.

In fairness, finishing in the top four of five might be a stretch for Forest this season but European football feels like a real possibility.

Gary Lineker hails three Nottingham Forest players

It’s not been a fun campaign for Lineker so far during 2024/25.

Not only has he been forced to watch Leicester sack Steve Cooper and languish in the bottom three but he’s been made to look foolish by Forest.

Lineker called himself an idiot over his Forest prediction and in fairness, he’s taken his medicine like the true professional he’s proved over the years.

Now on a season review of the Premier League campaign so far, he’s actually found time to rave about three Nottingham Forest players.

He said: “I’ve owned this for a few weeks and it’s great to see and it’s refreshing honestly.

“Elanga has done well on the right, I really like Morgan Gibbs-White, Callum Hudson-Odoi has chipped in on numerous occasions.

“They really work hard and they’re incredibly solid.”

Nottingham Forest now have options all over the pitch

Looking back at the substitutes for the bench in Forest’s last game against Everton and the team’s first back in the Premier League in August 2022 is quite remarkable.
