Nottingham Forest managed to walk away from the City Ground with a 1-1 draw against Liverpool, which was just deserved for their efforts on the night.
It was a fast start from Nuno Espirito Santo‘s men, as Chris Wood put the Reds 1-0 up early on before settling into a solid defensive structure.
Nottingham Forest now find themselves in second position after 21 games in the Premier League season, which is an incredible achievement for the Reds.
However, it was the performance of Matz Sels in the second half that made it possible, as he was simply sensational in-between the sticks.
Interestingly, his performance even caught the eye of Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota, who was full of praise for Sels in his post-match interview on TNT Sports.
Diogo Jota hails Matz Sels for his second half display
The Belgian was out of favour and mistake-prone at one point in his Nottingham Forest career, which is crazy to think about when you see the standard of his performances this season.
Nuno Espirito Santo hinted that Sels was his Man of the Match for his display against Wolves at Molineux last Monday, and it’s hard to argue with him.

Speaking after the game, Diogo Jota gave the Nottingham Forest goalkeeper plenty of praise and even shared that he spoke to the opposition coaches about him.
“Yeah I was telling that to my previous coaches of Wolves. I think he made two great saves and obviously we want to do better, but he was good as well.”
Murillo also deserves a special mention
Murillo was an absolute rock at the back for Nottingham Forest.
The Brazilian made an astounding 18 clearances, four tackles, two interceptions, one blocked shot, won four duels and had sixty touches altogether.
This comes as no surprise though, as the centre-back has been superb all season, constantly putting in performances of the highest order alongside Nikola Milenkovic.
