Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move to sign Juventus star Douglas Luiz during the January transfer window.
The Reds have been searching the market trying to add some quality to the ranks but so far there have been frustrations when it comes to bringing players in at the City Ground.
In terms of outgoings, there will be some joy. James Ward-Prowse is heading back to West Ham, whilst Emmanuel Dennis is also talking to clubs over a move away from Forest before the deadline.
Luiz was a target earlier in the month for Forest. However, an update has now emerged that appears to give a final verdict on how the land lies for the Brazilian ahead of the window closing.

Douglas Luiz makes deadline day decision amid Nottingham Forest interest
According to Juventus News 24, Luiz is going to remain at Juventus beyond this transfer window with the report claiming that the player is very happy in Turin.
Manchester City were also keen on Luiz during the window. However, they decided not to pursue any move for their former player and it was looking like Forest would have a free run at Luiz.
However, Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare are now both back in the reckoning for Forest. Both players featured as the Reds battered Brighton 7-0 at the City Ground and it further enhanced the midfield options.
Luiz is clearly a talented player. Last season, he was integral for Aston Villa as they won a place in the Champions League and his £43 million move to Italy did come as a bit of a shock.
Forest might go back for Luiz in the summer window
If the Reds do qualify for the Champions League then signing some like Luiz might be absolutely perfect for the club to try and sign given his vast experience of playing for top clubs.
It does feel as though Forest will get into Europe this season. Which competition remains up for discussion, although not finishing in the top nine from here might feel underwhelming.
Luiz is a player who knows the Premier League extremely well. As a result, it would definitely be no surprise to see Luiz remaining on the radar ahead of the summer transfer window.
Forest won’t be alone in trying to sign him in the summer, it would seem. Almost half of the Premier League have been linked with him at some stage during this window and he will definitely be a player to watch in the summer.
