Nottingham Forest want eight-goal winger who recently tormented Kyle Walker

Nottingham Forest fought tooth and nail to bring new players to the football club in January but were largely thwarted in their efforts.

Evangelos Marinakis desperately wanted a new forward player. However, when the clock struck 11pm on deadline day, the Forest had Joel Ndala to show for their efforts with the winger joining the B-Team on loan from Manchester City.

Forest eyed a move for Yoane Wisse during the window. He stayed loyal to Brentford though and perhaps that’s one for the Reds to revisit once again during the summer transfer window when more joy might be had.

Matheus Cunha signed a new contract with Wolves. A release clause of £62.5 million will come into play during the summer and after Forest’s interest in January, there could be more to come from that one in the summer too.

The Reds might have European football on the agenda next season. As a result, the chances of attracting a top forward player might be considerably higher than they were in January.

Nottingham Forest want Feyenoord player Igor Paixao

It will come as absolutely no surprise that Forest are keen to sign a Brazilian player in the summer transfer window, with the Eredivisie seemingly a market that the Reds have been scouting, according to On the Minute.

Paixao moved to Holland from Coritiba in 2022 and he’s really started to showcase his talents in the Feyenoord team during the 2024/25 campaign.

The left-sided winger has scored eight goals and claimed 14 assists in all competitions this season with six of his goal contributions coming whilst playing in the Champions League.

Forest tried to sign Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord in the summer. Those attempts came to nothing and the Mexican player ultimately ended up signing for Milan in January.

The Reds might have a little bit more joy with Paixao, however. Signing him won’t be easy though with Tottenham, Newcastle and Bournemouth all thought to be interested.

Paixao tormented Kyle Walker in Champions League clash

Paixao was the match-winner recently as Feyenoord beat Milan 1-0 to take a slender advantage into their second leg with the Serie A giants to try and progress in the Champions League.

The Dutch media had a field day with his performance claiming that he tormented Kyle Walker who is currently on loan at the San Siro after falling out of favour with Manchester City.

Paixao is clearly a talented player. In total, he’s scored 29 goals and claimed 13 assists during his time with Feyenoord and the next step in his career looks to be a move to a big European division.

Forest could definitely do with another winger. Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa look very raw indeed and having some extra quality from the wide areas in the squad certainly wouldn’t go amiss in the summer.
