£59m Nottingham Forest linked striker with as many goals as Chris Wood gets green light to transfer

Nottingham Forest will soon be focusing solely on signing new players and an exciting transfer window could be on the cards.

With just seven Premier League matches remaining this season, Forest are third in the table and eyeing a place in the Champions League.

If a place in the continent’s elite club competition is secured, a marquee signing or two will almost certainly be on the cards.

Viktor Gyokeres has already been linked with Forest and clearly forward players will be at the top of the list of priorities for the summer window.

Evangelos Marinakis wanted a striker in January but couldn’t land one, with extra emphasis likely to be placed on landing one in the summer.

Nottingham Forest get Ademola Lookman green light

Forest already have Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi as Super Eagles internationals at the club and now another Nigerian international might be on his way.

Lookman has been linked with Forest already and it now seems as though he’s definitely going to be leaving Atalanta in the summer window.

Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel: “I can confirm that Ademola Lookman will leave Atalanta this summer. A decision has been made and his agents have already started working on solutions. The relationship with the Atalanta coach is broken.

“Juventus are definitely one of the clubs, in England, there are a number of clubs courting the player and one year ago PSG wanted him but that’s not very likely this summer.”

Forest would welcome a player like Lookman, who can fulfil more than one duty on the pitch and surely the forward would relish another crack at the Premier League.

Lookman can operate as a striker but he also does a job out on the left too, with his form for Atalanta taking his game to another level.

During the 2023/24 campaign, he scored a hat-trick in the final of the Europa League to hand Bayer Leverkusen their only defeat of the campaign.

At 27, whoever signs Lookman will be getting the player in his prime and ultimately that does bode well if he’s to cost £59 million.

Lookman feels like the ideal sort of addition for Forest at this stage of the club’s progression and if a deal could be struck, it’d be an exciting addition for the Reds.
