Jose Mourinho makes last-gasp attempt to stop winger from joining Nottingham Forest

Despite 2024/25 having seven games still to play, Nottingham Forest are being linked with players ahead of next season.

Viktor Gyokeres has been linked with Forest. A marquee striker signing seems likely if Champions League football is secured, and exciting times could be on the agenda.

It won’t just be strikers that Forest chase in the summer, with better depth options required across the board if Champions League football is secured.

Forest have used the fewest number of players in the Premier League this season and with more games on the fixture list next season, rotating will become the norm.

The Reds will be working on a shortlist of targets for the summer, with more than one list likely to be prepped based on the European competition in which Forest play.

It looks to be a busy summer in the transfer market for Forest and no stone will be left unturned by Evangelos Marinakis.

Fenerbahce offer contract to Forest-linked Bright Osayi-Samuel

It was claimed that Forest had agreed on a pre-contract agreement with Osayi-Samiel last month, with Crystal Palace also keen.

However, according to Milliyet, Jose Mourinho isn’t keen to lose the Nigerian performer just yet and is making efforts to keep him at the club.

A new contract is going to be offered to the player in a final attempt to keep him in Turkey with Fenerbahce beyond this season.

Forest’s need for new full-backs has been highlighted over the last week or so.

Ola Aina was struck down with injury against Manchester United and that leaves the team extremely light when it comes to options in reserve.

Osayi-Samuel would be very useful on a free

At 27-year-old, Osayi-Samuel is a player who could actually be a similar sort of signing to Aina.

He checked in on a free and adapted to life playing regular Premier League football exceptionally well at the City Ground.

Osayi-Samuel has made 32 appearances this season, largely playing at right-back, claiming two assists for Fenerbahce.

It’s somewhat annoying that Fenerbahce have offered the player a new contract and that could lead to Forest looking at other options.

Osayi-Samuel would have represented a solid backup option for the current full-backs and it remains to be seen what will happen regarding the player’s future.
