Nottingham Forest produced another battling away performance against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men went 2-0 ahead inside 15 minutes, with Elliot Anderson opening the scoring before Chris Wood headed home the second.
Richarlison netted a late goal to set up a nervy final few minutes, but Nottingham Forest defended resolutely and secured their ninth away win of the season – only Liverpool have more.
Victory moves Forest back into third with five cup finals remaining, so dreams of a Champions League campaign are beginning to feel very real.

Jamie Carragher blown away by Nottingham Forest’s Harry Toffolo
Harry Toffolo produced one of his best performances in a Nottingham Forest shirt against Tottenham Hotspur last night.
Forest fans were full of praise for Toffolo and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher was blown away by his goal-line clearance to prevent what looked like a near-certain Dejan Kulusevski goal.
“We’ve seen them do it so often this season, going to that back five,” Carragher explained. “Not always at half time, but he backed his defenders and his goalkeeper to get a clean sheet.
“They almost did it. It was a bit nervy for them late on. The goalkeeper made some really good saves and there was a goal-line clearance that was out of this world.
“But Forest have been a revelation and I think most neutrals want to see them keep going until the end of the season. They don’t want to see it peter out.
“There was a fear going into the game that it might be the case.”
Harry Toffolo’s impressive stats vs Tottenham Hotspur
It’s hardly surprising to see Toffolo earning much of the plaudits from last night’s win when you take a look at his impressive statistics, as per Sofascore.
The former Huddersfield Town defender produced the complete defensive performance at left-back, keeping highly-rated youngster Wilson Odobert quiet.
- 90 minutes played
- 45 touches
- 3 duels won
- 3 tackles
- 3 clearances
- 2 blocked shots
- 1 interceptions
That was Toffolo’s first league start of the season, which is pretty remarkable, so it’ll be interesting to see if he retains his place for the Brentford clash on Thursday.
Ola Aina remains on the sidelines with a calf injury.
