Nottingham Forest will be an attractive destination this summer.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are dreaming of Champions League qualification after yesterday’s 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur.

Nottingham Forest moved back into third and have a three-point buffer on sixth-placed Chelsea with just five games left.

Harry Tofollo was excellent against Tottenham and goalkeeper Matz Sels also earned much of the plaudits last night.

If Forest manage to hold onto a top-five spot, they’ll be able to attract some serious talent this summer transfer window.

And, with that said, the recruitment team are already drawing up a list of targets as they’re now being linked with a defender on the continent.

Nottingham Forest want to sign Daniel Svensson

Nottingham Forest are in the market for a left-back this summer, with Alex Moreno due to return to Aston Villa upon the expiry of his loan deal.

Harry Toffolo is also out of contract at the end of the season, so Forest chiefs are wasting no time in finding an adequate replacement.

That said, according to FotbollDirekt, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are showing an interest in Daniel Svensson, who is currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund from FC Nordsjælland.

The loan deal will become a permanent one if Svensson makes 15 appearances, but he’s only made 12 up to now, with just four Bundesliga games remaining.

The report suggests Forest will challenge the German giants for his signature, which could cost around £7m.

Nottingham Forest could face competition from Leeds United for Svensson

According to Leeds Live, Leeds United were showing a serious interest in Svensson during the January transfer window.

Ultimately, they missed out to Dortmund, but after securing promotion to the Premier League on Easter Monday, they could reignite their interest and provide competition to Forest.

Leeds’ owners, the 49ers, are one of the richest in the country, so they’ll likely spend a fortune this summer.

Anyhow, Svensson will be a man in demand after his impressive performances this season, including a terrific display against Barcelona.

The 23-year-old kept Lamine Yamal quiet, which few full-backs are able to boast about.
