Brentford are up next for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, and Bees boss Thomas Frank has spoken highly of Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Currently sat sixth in the league table, the City Ground outfit now have five cup finals to overcome to secure Champions League football next season.

Forest weren’t themselves against Man City and will need to get back to their all-firing best as soon as possible, with Brentford coming to town on Thursday evening.

Despite sitting five places above their opponents, Forest have a poor record against Brentford and will no doubt recognise the potential banana skin at hand.

Speaking ahead of the game, Bees manager Frank has taken the time to sing the praises of Forest, particularly that of Espirito Santo.

Thomas Frank praises Nuno Espirito Santo’s Nottingham Forest transformation

Putting Espirito Santo’s selection ‘mistake’ against Man City aside, the Portuguese manager hasn’t done much wrong this season.

The City Ground boss has guided Forest from 17th to the dizzying heights of European challengers, with Champions League football now a real possibility.

Brentford manager Frank has spoken on Forest’s rise up the table, praising Espirito Santo for transforming the club’s fortunes.

“They have been very good, praise to Nottingham and to Nuno for his coaching and coaching staff. Incredible, they are aiming for the Champions League spots,” Frank told Stadium Astro.

“They have had a big development since last year. It will be a big challenge for us, but we are up for it and believe in ourselves that we can go there and win.”

Forest should be wary of Frank challenge

Brentford’s position in the Premier League table may deceive some people into thinking that they have nothing to play for.

That, however, isn’t necessarily the case, as with English teams succeeding in Europe this season, there could end up being eight European spots up for grabs.

So, with Brentford only five points off eighth with a game in hand, Frank’s men will likely be at the top of their game in search of possible European qualification.

Taking that into account, as well as Frank’s past joy against Forest, Espirito Santo’s men could be in for a tough ride come Thursday evening.
