Nottingham Forest fans have a lot to say about Murillo after 2-0 defeat to Brentford

Nottingham Forest’s Champions League dreams have been bruised after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Brentford at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest have now lost three of their last four Premier League games, thus dropping down to sixth place.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men just didn’t get going and looked unusually shaky at the back, with Ola Aina not covering himself in glory for the first goal.

Kevin Schade capitalised on Aina’s slip and poked the ball home before Yoane Wissa added the second after a mix-up between Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic.

That said, Forest fans had a lot to say about Murillo’s performance.

Nottingham Forest fans slam Murillo’s performance vs Brentford

Murillo has been exceptional this season and his performances have alerted a number of clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea are the latest side to register an interest in Murillo, who is valued at an eye-watering £70m by Forest bosses.

However, of late, the Brazilian has made a few errors and was again at fault this evening, with Wissa punishing him.

Forest fans slammed his display on X, formerly known as Twitter.

@cmsdrums said: “Why is Murillo not sticking his head on that rather than ducking under it?”

@KieranGaughan posted: “Murillo not good enough for Real Sociedad the way he ball watches.”

“Why the f— is Murillo blocking him off when he is nowhere near the f—— ball!!!! which then put Milenkovic in trouble,” @KieranCallum29_ commented.

@haydnforestred added: “Nathan Collins is better than Murillo.”

“Murillo and Nikola played together like they’d never even met before. Complete opposite to everything they’ve done well all season,” @IRDavies90 said.

“Murillo chasing shadows again,” @Garibaldi1969 posted.

Ryan Yates believes Forest have the character to turn it around

Forest captain Ryan Yates was asked if he thought tonight’s defeat was down to a hangover from Sunday’s FA Cup exit against Manchester City.

He was quick to dismiss that suggestion and believes the group have it in them to turn it around in these last four games.

“I was suspended for that and I didn’t feel like it for one bit,” Yates told Sky Sports.

“You’ve got to look at each game and put all your focus into it. We’re isolating each game as it comes and try to get fired up and put this behind us.

“We’re just thinking about Palace. We haven’t got long and that’s all we’re focused on. We’ve reacted well to set backs this season. That will show the character of the group.”
