Nuno Espirito Santo’s men reside outside of the top five on goal difference ahead of their clash against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Morgan Gibbs-White has been a key part of their success and his form has alerted Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

It’s understood that Man City see Gibbs-White as a potential replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, who is set to leave the club at the end of the season.

And now, Fabrizio Romano has just shared a major update on the Forest playmaker.

Man City step up interest in Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White

Morgan Gibbs-White has registered 14 goal involvements for Nottingham Forest this season, which has seen him become an England international.

Wayne Rooney recently said Gibbs-White has been better than Bruno Fernandes this term, which is high praise indeed.

Forest are hopeful they’ll be able to retain his signature but that now seems even more difficult after Fabrizio Romano’s latest update.

The transfer specialist understands that Man City are ready to advance in their attempts to sign Gibbs-White, with personal terms not expected to be an issue.

Forest already have their eye on a Gibbs-White replacement

Whilst Forest are desperate to fend off interest in Gibbs-White, it does seem as though there’s an acceptance that he will leave.

Such is why the club are already drawing up a list of targets who could replace his skillset and quality in the final third.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly eyeing James McAtee, who’s enjoyed a productive season for Man City despite playing a bit-part role.

The England under-21 international has netted seven goals in all competitions, which is certainly a respectable tally.

Although, Forest fans aren’t convinced McAtee is good enough to replace Gibbs-White.
