Nottingham Forest are in the market for a striker this summer transfer window.

Chris Wood has enjoyed a prolific season, but he’ll need help ahead of a potential European tour next year.

Nottingham Forest have been eyeing Bournemouth’s Evanilson, who’s impressed since joining in a £40m switch from Porto.

Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez has also been linked to the City Ground, which has been met with mixed reactions among supporters.

But, perhaps Nuno Espirito Santo already has a prolific striker in the waiting, with Wigan manager Ryan Lowe hailing Nottingham Forest loanee Dale Taylor.

Nottingham Forest told Dale Taylor can be a 20-goal striker

Nottingham Forest shipped striker Dale Taylor on loan to League One outfit Wigan Athletic at the start of the season.

And, it’s certainly been a productive experience for the 21-year-old, as he’s just scooped Wigan’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards.

Manager Ryan Lowe reckons Taylor has the potential to become a 20-goal-a-season striker in the future.

“He has had a great season”, Lowe told Inside Futbol. “He probably thinks I do not like him, but he is a great kid. I love him to pieces.

“He is a goalscorer. But, whatever he does, wherever he goes in the future, he can get 20 goals rather than 11 and maybe be a bit selfish in certain areas.”

Wigan expert tips Taylor to have a ‘strong career’

Speaking to Nottingham Forest News, Wigan expert Nathan Hassett tipped Taylor to have a ‘strong career’.

“Dale Taylor is, talent-wise, good enough to have a strong career but goals won’t be the only stat that defines him,” Hassett explained.

“His seven assists have been equally as important to Wigan staying in League One, so I actually see him more as a second-striker than the lone goalscorer in a team.

“His talent on the ball and his ability to create opportunities for others, as well as his own, could see him pair nicely with a more traditional, Chris Wood-type striker. Either way, though, Taylor looks ready for the next step.”

Taylor has made one appearance for Forest, which was under Steve Cooper, but he is yet to make his debut for Espirito Santo.
