Nottingham Forest are already plotting their transfer business ahead of the summer window.

It’s understood Nuno Espirito Santo is in the market for a striker as he looks to provide support for Chris Wood.

Nottingham Forest have been eyeing Darwin Nunez in recent weeks after it emerged that Liverpool would sanction his sale for around £35m.

Bournemouth’s Evanilson has also been linked to the City Ground, though, he’ll likely cost significantly more.

Nottingham Forest are shopping for a central midfielder, too, and one of their top targets just announced himself to the world last night.

Nottingham Forest target Davide Fratessi scores winner vs Barcelona

It emerged in March that Nottingham Forest want to make Davide Fratessi their statement signing this summer.

Espirito Santo and his recruitment chiefs are showing a serious interest in the £40m-rated Inter Milan midfielder.

But, that potential transfer may have just become a lot more difficult as Fratessi has just become a hero for Inter.

The 27-cap Italy international netted the winning goal against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals last night.

Fratessi’s goal put the Italian giants 7-6 ahead on aggregate and sent them through to the final, where they will face either Paris Saint-Germain or Arsenal.

Forest may have to turn to other targets

After Fratessi’s starring role against Barcelona, it seems unlikely Inter would sanction his sale to Forest this summer.

So, the Tricky Trees may have to look elsewhere, with Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz linked to the East Midlanders.

Forest have been told they’ll need to pay £34m to get Luiz out of the Turin-based club, so that deal could be feasible.

Indeed, qualifying for the Champions League would certainly help, as it’d make them much more attractive for players overseas.
