Anthony Elanga has once again been linked with a move to Newcastle United, but Nottingham Forest fans are apprehensive about one aspect of the potential move.
Newcastle’s interest in the Swede is no secret, but Elanga has said he’s happy at Forest when asked about the move previously.
However, Newcastle are looking at Elanga once again as they look to bolster their squad ahead of a return to the Champions League.
Newcastle are desperate to sign a right-winger so a bid for Elanga will be expected at the City Ground, but Reds fans are already sharing their concerns about the deal on social media.

Nottingham Forest fans share concern over Anthony Elanga price
Elanga was brilliant for Forest last season so a hefty price will be required to prise him away from the club. The report revealing Newcastle’s renewed interest suggested that a £50m offer would tempt Forest, but Reds fans have taken to social media to voice their issue with the fee.
One fan said: “Really, the floor has to be £60m minimum to be worth our while.” Another added: “If we do sell, surely we’re looking at £70m, all things considered?”
Another fan said: “£50m just isn’t enough,” while one more added: “I think we would be looking at much more than £50m now!”
One Forest fan said: “We’d be mad to let him go for any less than £70m,” with another adding: “I wouldn’t sell Elanga for less than £60m.”
The concern over the fee is rooted in Elanga’s importance to Nuno Espírito Santo’s style of play, something that would be very difficult to replicate from another player.
Anthony Elanga is crucial to Nottingham Forest’s tactics
Against Manchester United in April, Elanga recorded Usain Bolt-esque speeds as he ran the length of the pitch to score the winning goal against his former team.
This pace and direct dribbling ability is absolutely crucial to how Espírito Santo likes to set Forest up, soaking up pressure with the knowledge that Elanga is there to carry the ball forward with his pace.
| Season | Goals | Assists |
| Anthony Elanga 23/24 | 5 | 9 |
| Anthony Elanga 24/25 | 6 | 12 |
His output is also improving and should continue to, given that he is only 23, making Elanga one of the most valuable assets in the Forest squad.
Newcastle will undoubtedly come in with a bid, but Evangelos Marinakis must demand a solid price for Elanga to allow for a replacement who can match these continuously improving numbers.
