Richard Rios has been linked with Nottingham Forest for a number of weeks following his performances at the Club World Cup.
Forest have found the going tough when it comes to signing players ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, with Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha the two arrivals so far.
Anthony Elanga has signed for Newcastle, however, and Morgan Gibbs-White could be on his way to Tottenham in the coming weeks.
Forest want at least four new players, and Nuno Espirito Santo could be forgiven for growing a little bit concerned over a lack of new recruits.

Richard Rios makes Nottingham Forest decision
It’s been claimed that a bid close to £28 million would be enough to secure Rios this summer, with Forest making a bid to that tune.
However, it would appear as though Rios has parked any possible discussions with Forest at the moment, with his desire seemingly to move to Roma.
The Colombian international midfielder has also been the subject of a £30 million bid from Zenit, although that has been rejected by the player out of hand.
Rios has been called a ‘freak athlete’ in the past and after his performances with Palmeiras at the Club World Cup, interest is rife in his services.
Forest could change formation this season
It does feel as though Forest might look to change their formation this season and opt to go with a three-pronged midfield instead of a 4-2-3-1.
If Gibbs-White leaves, that does feel like the most logical solution to the situation, given that a central midfielder will likely be cheaper to buy than a new number 10.
Rios would be a pretty decent signing, although given that he wants to move to Roma, it does feel unlikely that he will sign for the club at this stage.
Still, nothing is agreed just yet, and it might be up to Forest to convince him to sign for the club ahead of the Serie A giants this summer.
