Nottingham Forest are looking to get some new signings in before the 2025/26 campaign.

Anthony Elanga has departed for Newcastle, and there could be more disappointment as Morgan Gibbs-White looks to be flirting with Tottenham over a transfer.

Igor Jesus has signed for Forest from Botafogo, and Ross Wilson praised Jair Cunha when he also signed from the Brazilian champions.

Forest have some very good players in their squad despite the departure of Elanga and the possible exit of Gibbs-White.

Elliot Anderson, Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo and Callum Hudson-Odoi all remain at the club, with Ola Aina and Neco Williams both signing new contracts.

Nottingham Forest squad have big worry about Nuno Espirito Santo

Forest handed a new contract to Espirito Santo this summer and it would appear that he’s now going to earn his money next season.

The Reds typically operate on the counter-attack, but with the creative guile of Gibbs-Whit,e who could leave and Elanga’s rapid pace, that could prove tricky.

And, it appears the Forest players know it…

According to a report from the Daily Mail, it’s claimed that senior players at Forest have expressed concerns over the current style of play now that Elanga has departed the football club.

Unless a replacement speed demon comes into the club, it will be hard to continue with such a style of play, and it’s believed the players have some concerns.

Forest must adapt next season

In the closing stages of the 2024/25 campaign, it was clear that teams had decided the best way to approach playing Forest was to let the team have the ball and sit deeper.

With that in mind, Espirito Santo has to work on making Forest more effective in possession of the football ahead of the new campaign.

Naturally, it’s only concerning that the squad are worried about the situation if Elanga isn’t replaced, and hopefully, there can be some movement in the near future.

Forest had a good season during 2024/25 and with Europe on the cards next season, it will be very important for Espirito Santo to find a way for his team to adapt.
