Nottingham Forest are edging closer to signing Swiss international Dan Ndoye, who has already agreed to personal terms for a switch to the City Ground.
It’s been suggested that Bologna want £39m for Ndoye, with Evangelos Marinakis now tasked with producing a fee while Napoli also circle.
Despite Napoli’s interest, Forest are persisting with the Ndoye deal as a matter of priority, with a winger the most important deal the club can conclude right now after Anthony Elanga made his move to Newcastle United.
With the interest not going anywhere, here is all you need to know about Nottingham Forest target, Dan Ndoye.

Who is Dan Ndoye?
Dan Assane Ndoye was born on the 25th of October, 2000, in Nyon, Switzerland. Having started his career at Lausanne-Sport, Ndoye has also played for OGC Nice and FC Basel before making the switch to Italy to sign for Bologna in 2023.
Dan Ndoye parents
Ndoye was born in Switzerland to a Swiss mother and a Senegalese father, but has chosen to represent his home nation throughout his international career, all the way from U17 level.
He certainly gets support from his family, who have been willing to relocate to support the winger in his footballing journey. A 2024 article from 24 Heures said: “When Dan Ndoye leaves for Nice, Virginie, his mother, and Eva, his little sister (now 18), settle on the Côte d’Azur.
“When he goes to Basel, the family moves to the Rhine city. When he goes to Bologna? “We make arrangements to be close to him,” says Saliou, his father. “There are always family members near Dan.”
Dan Ndoye stats
| Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Lausanne-Sport | 49 | 13 | 8 |
| OGC Nice | 37 | 3 | 2 |
| FC Basel | 97 | 12 | 15 |
| Bologna | 75 | 11 | 8 |
After impressing for Lausanne, Ndoye’s big move to Nice in Ligue 1 didn’t quite go to plan, but he managed to recover brilliantly by returning to Switzerland with Basel.
Signing for Bologna gave him another chance in a top European league, one that he has taken well to ignite the interest of Forest.
Dan Ndoye Manchester United
Ndoye caught the attention of the wider footballing world when he starred for Switzerland at the Euros in 2024.
Ndoye registered a faster top speed than Kylian Mbappe at the tournament, a feat that caught the eye of Manchester United who quickly showed interest in the wide player.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio: “Ndoye stood out in the match against Germany, scoring one goal. He would have scored two, had the second not been ruled out for offside. Immediately after the match, United requested information regarding the cost of a potential transfer.”
The link seemed credible given that Sir Jim Ratcliffe also owns Nice and Lausanne, but a deal never materialised to the benefit of those at the City Ground.
Dan Ndoye salary
According to Capology, Ndoye currently earns £17,000 per week at Bologna. Of course, a move to the Premier League will come with the expectation of a wage rise, but it shouldn’t be one that the Forest owner cannot handle.
