How Jack Grealish could now play a key part in Nottingham Forest signing £38m star

Nottingham Forest are going in search of a number of new players this summer before the season gets underway.

Anthony Elanga was sold to Newcastle earlier this month and that has left a big void in the Forest starting eleven for Nuno Espirito Santo to contend with.

Espirito Santo wants new players at Forest and with around three weeks to go until the serious stuff starts, the Reds need to get busy when it comes to transfers.

Forest have been linked with Ben Doak from Liverpool, and at £25 million, that might not be a bad deal for the Reds to take a look at.

However, there is one player firmly in the sights of Forest at the moment, and it’s in danger of turning into a bit of a saga.

Jack Grealish could play a part in Nottingham Forest signing Dan Ndoye

As the Italian champions and a club that will play Champions League football next season, Napoli can afford to be selective with their search for a new winger.

Ndoye is firmly on their radar but now it would appear that Grealish is on their shortlist too, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Napoli are quite clearly growing frustrated with the lack of movement when it comes to Ndoye, with both the Italian outfit and Forest seeing bids rejected.

Forest have made a new bid for Ndoye and it would appear as though the club are keen to get this one over the line during the summer window.

Forest need a winger quickly

It’s alright waiting until the end of the window to a certain degree but right now, Forest are desperate for a new winger to come in who can replace Elanga.

With Brentford at home on the opening day of the season, it’s vital that Forest get off to a strong start and there really can’t be a slow start to the campaign this year.

Ndoye scored nine goals and claimed six assists last season as Bologna won the Coppa Italia and he does look like a solid replacement for Elanga.

Grealish looks like a piece of low-hanging fruit for Conte when it comes to taking him to Naples and if that deal can be struck, Forest really could be in business.

The City star’s wages might prove somewhat problematic for Napoli but Forest might have everything crossed that the Serie A champions go down that route instead.
