Nottingham Forest have a number of players that the club would still like to get rid of this summer.
The Reds have been pretty slow to get things sorted this summer on the recruitment front, although it’s not been through a lack of trying.
Anthony Elanga has signed for Newcastle and that has left Forest extremely short of options out wide.
Forest have also let Ramon Sosa leave, with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Jota Silva the only options currently available to Nuno Espirito Santo out wide.
Forest will have the UEFA Conference League on the horizon during 2025/26 and as a result, it’s vital that the club work hard to get new players added to the squad.
Nottingham Forest set new Jota Silva price tag
According to O Jogo, Forest are willing to entertain offers for Jota Silva this summer, but they command a £6 million profit to sell him.
The 25-year-old signed for Forest for £5.9 million but last season he managed just five starts in the Premier League for the Reds.
Espirito Santo only ever considered him as a backup option but for a few games around the midway point of the campaign when he did earn a few starts.
Sporting CP are keen on getting the player hooked up with a move back to Portugal and will attempt to sign the forward this summer.
Forest need reinforcements before any sales
Silva’s time at Forest probably is up, but right now, the club can ill-afford to let any more players depart from the City Ground.
The forward options are extremely light, and losing Silva would leave Hudson-Odoi as the only winger in the squad.
Silva has been largely frustrating during his time at Forest, and it would make sense for the club to look for better options ahead of the new season.
The future of Silva at Forest looks bleak, but Forest can’t risk the squad getting any lighter at this stage, and any transfer must be placed on hold until reinforcements have come into the club.
