Champions League club want £13m Nottingham Forest player but there’s a big issue

Nottingham Forest are still trying desperately to bring some new players to the club this summer, with strength in depth badly needed.

Anthony Elanga has been sold to Newcastle this month and it’s imperative that he’s replaced, with Forest eyeing Dan Ndoye as a replacement.

James McAtee is also on the list at Forest but it would appear that there is still lots of work to do, with Nuno Espirito Santo looking to reshuffle his squad once again.

Danilo and Ramon Sosa have also left the City Ground this summer and right now, the club are working on getting yet another player out of the building before the Premier League season gets underway.

Jota Silva update now emerges amid Sporting CP interest

According to Tom Collomosse of the Daily Mail, Forest are standing firm on a £13 million valuation when it comes to the Portuguese player.

Silva only started five Premier League games last season and Sporting CP are taking a good look at the player, although there are some issues.

According to A Bola, Forest are keen to get Silva off the books this summer, but Sporting would like to take him on loan with an option to buy, with the Reds only willing to sanction a loan if the option becomes a mandatory purchase.

Forest would be left seriously short of wingers if Silva was to leave and as a result, it’s perhaps ideal to keep hold of the player at least for now until some new recruits come to the club.

Forest wise to sell Silva

Quite simply, Silva has looked a little bit short of quality when it comes to playing in the Premier League and it’s not a surprise that Forest are willing to let him leave.

It will be interesting to see if Sporting do up the ante in the chase to sign him, however, with Forest seemingly set to stand firm.

At 25, Silva will want to be starting games regularly and with Forest eyeing a player with more quality to replace Elanga, his chances will once again be restricted.

The winger has always tried his best at Forest but with the UEFA Conference League on the horizon this season, it’s no surprise that more quality is being identified ahead of keeping Silva.
