All eyes were on Morgan Gibbs-White over the weekend as he ended speculation over his future by signing a new Nottingham Forest contract.
Tottenham were linked with Gibbs-White, but in the end, he chose to turn his back on a move to London to remain the main man in Nuno Espirito Santo’s team.
Forest can look forward to another season with their talismanic number 10 as part of the team and that will delight the Forest head coach.
Now, over 24 hours on from the contract situation and the will he won’t he saga involving Gibbs-White and Tottenham drawing to a close, details of the new contract have now emerged.

Details of new Morgan Gibbs-White contract emerge
All eyes were on the new deal signed by Gibbs-White at Forest and now John Percy from The Telegraph has made some intriguing claims.
Although Gibbs-White had a £60 million release clause in his last contract, Tottenham failed to meet a number of activation triggers when trying to prise the player away from Forest.
Naturally, that situation drew intrigue with many fans of the opinion that such an influential player shouldn’t have ever had such a clause inserted in the first place.
Thankfully, Forest have agreed to extend Gibbs-White’s contract to 2028 and crucially, there is no release clause no gentleman’s agreement for the player to leave next summer.
Ultimately, any club that wants to purchase Gibbs-White will now have to pay whatever Forest deems him to be worth when the time does come for him to part ways.
Gibbs-White can spark transfer activity at Forest
Dan Ndoye has been heavily linked with Forest and now, things might start to look up on the transfer front when it comes to incoming business.
Potential players will now look at Forest as a club willing to keep their best players and not one that will simply let their top stars leave each and every summer.
Gibbs-White has been brilliant for the Reds for the best part of three years and it would have been seriously detrimental to the club’s plans to lose him this summer.
With Anthony Elanga being sold to Newcastle, this is a positive step in the right direction and ultimately, it can put to bed the notion that Forest will let any more top players leave this summer.
