Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Dan Ndoye from Bologna.

Ndoye signed for Forest in a deal worth an initial £34 million and becomes the team’s replacement for Anthony Elanga.

Forest chose Ndoye over Johan Bakayoko, with Nuno Espirito Santo raising doubts over the Belgian performer.

The 24-year-old is tried and tested, having scored nine goals and registered six assists last season as Bologna finished the season by winning the Coppa Italia.

Ndoye will now begin training with his new teammates and perhaps he will be in action for the first time when Forest face Birmingham on Saturday.

What Dan Ndoye said when he saw a Forest shirt for the first time

Ndoye has been in the pipeline for a little while when it comes to signing for Forest.

Quite clearly, he’s excited to get going and when he was handed a new Forest shirt for the first time, he couldn’t hide his glee.

In a video posted on the website, he said: “It’s beautiful, amazing, it looks beautiful in red. Beautiful. I love it. I like it, it looks good. What a shirt!”

Ndoye typically operates on the right-hand side of the attack and was one of the quickest players in last season’s Serie A.

Ndoye under pressure to replace Elanga

Ndoye perhaps won’t completely replicate the speed of Elanga, but his output in the way of goals should be better.

The Switzerland international bagged nine times last year, and with the right players around him, he could be capable of even more.

Ndoye is a statement signing in the wake of Elanga leaving and it will now be exciting to see him in action before the Premier League gets underway.

The forward looks skilful, fast and has an eye for a goal, making him a very useful addition to the Forest ranks.
