Nottingham Forest player barely picked by Nuno Espirito Santo selects his next move

Nottingham Forest have a number of players who they would still like to get rid of before the season gets underway.

Anthony Elanga was sold to Newcastle in the high-profile departure of the summer, with Forest collecting close to £60 million for his signature.

Ramon Sosa has left for Palmeiras, Danilo has signed for Botafogo, and Andrew Omobamidele has made his loan move with Strasbourg permanent.

Jota Silva is nearing a move to Sporting CP and it would appear that another player is now mulling over his next move away from the City Ground.

Carlos Miguel decides on next move after Forest snub

Tall goalkeeper Miguel didn’t travel with the Forest squad to Portugal for the recent pre-season training camp and his future looks bleak.

Angus Gunn is set to sign for Forest and that will shunt Miguel further down the pecking order when it comes to jostling for the shirt between the posts.

According to Globo, Miguel is actually keen to stay in Europe if he leaves Forest, even though some Brazilian clubs are keeping tabs on his situation.

Nuno Espirito Santo only picked Miguel in some of the cup games last season and as a result, the head coach is now willing to move him on this summer.

Forest are wise to move Miguel on

There will come a time when Sels needs replacing in the Forest goal, but Miguel has very rarely looked like being the man to do that.

In fairness, it’s unlikely that Gunn will either, but there is little point in stockpiling goalkeepers if they’re keen to play regular football moving forward.

Miguel’s adventure to play in Europe has turned into a bit of a nightmare and with that in mind, it’s easy to see why he’s keen to try and prove himself in Europe before admitting defeat.

Forest would welcome the cash from his departure and hopefully, something can be sorted that allows Miguel to leave the Reds on a permanent basis.
