Nottingham Forest have had quite a few high profile outgoings with Anthony Elanga and Danilo amongst those departing this transfer window.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have also been very active in the market, and Nottingham Forest are still looking to strengthen ahead of their Europa League campaign this season.

The Garibaldi have brought in Dan Ndoye, Jair Cunha, and Igor Jesus as they prepare to play in four competitions.

However, it now seems there are a couple more players that Forest want to get off their books before the season begins.

Nuno Espírito Santo paves way for David Carmo, Omar Richards and Marko Stamenic to depart

It has been a strong summer so far for Nottingham Forest, and it now looks like the club is looking to clear out some of their fringe players.

David Carmo, Omar Richards and Marko Stamenic have all reportedly been cleared to either go out on loan or leave on a permanent deal, according to the Telegraph.

The trio all spent the last season out on loan, with Carmo and Stamenic spending their time at Olympiacos, meanwhile Richards was in the Portuguese league with Rio Ave.

Both Carmo and Stamenic were bought last summer and were immediately sent out on loan to the Greek side, who are also owned by Evangelos Marinakis, whereas Richards was purchased in 2022.

This news may not come as a surprise to Forest fans as all three have yet to make a competitive appearance for the club, and it now seems that won’t be changing anytime soon.

Nottingham Forest are balancing incomings with outgoings

With the club in four competitions, it is wise for Nuno Espírito Santo to maintain a healthy balance of signings and departures.

So far, this has been the case. Anthony Elanga was allowed to depart to Newcastle, but Dan Ndoye was brought in to take his place.

Danilo has also left, and James McAtee was identified as another midfield option in the market, albeit a different profile of midfielder to the Brazilian.

Additionally, the arrival of Jair Cunha has improved the depth at the back, and Igor Jesus has added extra firepower to the frontline at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest are in need of a strong and deep squad, but must avoid it becoming bloated. Letting players such as Carmo, Richards, and Stamenic leave will provide them with that.
