Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has been a hot topic this week after he went public about his strained relationship with Evangelos Marinakis.

It was being reported last week that Nottingham Forest could sack Nuno and replace him with former Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou.

There were also suggestions that Nuno could walk, however, speaking ahead of the Crystal Palace game yesterday, he rubbished those claims.

There is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding his future at Nottingham Forest, as he has had a major fallout with Edu.

Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer have now predicted what will happen with the Portuguese head coach.

Nuno was serenaded by Forest fans at Selhurst Park as they chanted his name when he went over to clap them at full-time.

Clearly, the supporters are desperate for him to stay, however, Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer both reckon he could be sacked as soon as there’s a poor run of results.

Lineker: “The first bad run they have Alan, the first bad run they have, I fear for Nuno.

Shearer: “Yeah well that’s the battle he’s never going to win, unfortunately.

Lineker: “I wonder whether he wants to.”

Shearer: “He’s probably decided to think I’m going to get it out in the open and see if I can win it that way, that’s what it looks like. But yeah it doesn’t end well for the coach or the manager when that happens.”

Nuno Espirito Santo on whether he’s confident of staying at Nottingham Forest

After the Crystal Palace game, Nuno was asked if he’s confident that he will remain in charge of Nottingham Forest.

“I cannot answer that question,” the 51-year-old explained.

“But what I know is that I am working and trying to do my job the best I can. Of course the situation has to be solved.

“We are responsible people and we are going to have a good conversation to try to create, more than anything, a good platform for what is most important – the team.”

Forest play host to West Ham United on Sunday, and then there is a two-week international break, so it has to be resolved one way or another during this period.
