Evangelos Marinakis was present in Monaco for the Europa League 25/26 league phase draw, but questions naturally returned to the issues surrounding the Nottingham Forest manager.
Alarm bells rang when Nuno Espírito Santo voiced his concerns over the Forest squad ahead of the Premier League season opener against Brentford, despite the imminent transfer deals at the time.
Things escalated further as Nuno admitted his relationship with Marinakis is fractured, with reports later revealing that the Forest owner is caught in the middle of a remarkable feud between the Portuguese boss and Edu.
In the midst of this unexpected drama, Marinakis has been quizzed about the situation surrounding his manager, giving a detailed answer.

Evangelos Marinakis on his relationship with Nuno Espírito Santo
Marinakis watched on as Forest’s Europa League opponents were revealed, an event which will set the club up for a truly exciting 25/26 season.
This situation with Nuno needs to be solved first, though, with Marinakis speaking to TNT Sports about his relationship with the manager after the draw was made.
Marinakis said: “We have a solid relationship. Of course, sometimes we can be nervous, we can say one thing then say another, but what counts at the end of the day is the real relationship between me and Nuno, between Nuno and the players and between the players and our fans. Everything is solid.
“[…] We are here in the good days, but we are even closer in the difficult days, so personally I don’t see a problem. I’m going to London today and over the weekend we will meet each other and I don’t see any problem whatsoever.
“We’re all together and united, we’ll take some corrective actions and everything will be smooth.”
Back at the City Ground, Espírito Santo has also been discussing the issue in his pre-match press conference ahead of the West Ham clash, echoing a similar feeling.
Nuno Espírito Santo provides update on Nottingham Forest future
The Forest squad are behind Espírito Santo as things on the pitch remain harmonious amid all of the noise.
Naturally, Nuno was also asked about his future at Forest by the press, giving an answer which suggests that the situation is cooling.
He said: “Yes, I think in that sense I am totally relaxed. We need to have a talk about the future of the club. How we address things after the transfer market closes. What is the commitment to the club.
“Me and the president all want the same thing, which is what is best for Forest.”
Hopefully, the fans will have three points to celebrate on Sunday, with the Nuno situation ideally resolved over the international break before the Europa League campaign begins.
