Nottingham Forest announce Emmanuel Dennis exit
Although Forest were anticipated to sanction an exit should a club come forward to sign him, the fact Dennis has been released does come as a shock.
Dennis cost Forest a fee in the region of £20 million back in the summer of 2022, shortly after the Reds had won promotion to the Premier League.
The versatile forward never really felt like a player that Steve Cooper wanted, and he barely started during the 2022/23 campaign.
Dennis made 25 appearances for Forest, scoring twice and claiming three assists, leaving after failed loan spells with Basaksehir and Blackburn Rovers.
Forest have learned from Dennis capture
Gone are the days when managers pick the vast majority of signings, but Dennis felt like it would fail from the off.
It was evident pretty quickly that Dennis wasn’t a Cooper type, and it was no surprise when he found minutes hard to come by.
Thankfully, the Reds have come a long way since making signings of this nature and the recruitment in recent windows has been far better.
Dennis will now be free to get himself hooked up with another club and this represents very solid business to get this done without any pressure on deadline day.
