What Evangelos Marinakis did after Nottingham Forest conceded third goal vs West Ham is telling

There will be nobody at Nottingham Forest happy after their 3-0 defeat to West Ham on Sunday.

It all looked set to end as a goalless draw, but a ten-minute period from the Hammers saw them strike three times.

There were a lot of poor performances from the Nottingham Forest squad, and Nuno will no doubt lay into his players for their lapse of concentration in the final ten minutes.

However, another unhappy face at the game was owner Evangelos Marinakis, and what he did towards the end tells a lot about how he was feeling.

Evangelos Marinakis leaves his seat after West Ham’s third goal

Evangelos Marinakis is an ever present figure at the City Ground, and it was no surprise to see him turn up against West Ham.

He would have been extremely disappointed with losing 2-0 to West Ham, but when the third goal struck, he could not hold in his frustrations.

When Callum Wilson headed past Mats Selz in added time, Marinakis had seen enough, and instead of staying till the final whistle, he left his seat early.

It was a telling gesture about the performance of Nottingham Forest on the day.

While it may have simply been an owner being frustrated with his team’s performance, it will only add to the fire when it comes to Nuno Espirito Santo’s future.

However, Marinakis has said he wants the issues with Nuno to be resolved, and that could happen over the international break.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s future could still be up in the air

Evangelos Marinakis recently said his relationship with Nuno is solid, but the idea of the Greek sacking the manager still lingers in the minds of Forest fans. The 3-0 defeat does not help those rumours.

The manager and the owner are set to sit down and speak for the first time following the fallout of Nuno’s pre-Crystal Palace press conference.

Talking to the media, the 51-year-old said the relationship was not the same, fuelling speculation he could be dismissed from his job.

If the Nottingham Forest owner is truly thinking of taking such action, sitting down after a heavy defeat to West Ham is not the ideal scenario for Nuno.
