Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 with Burnley to leave the club’s supporters with more questions than answers as Ange Postecoglou gets to work.
Postecoglou has already got some supporters worried, and the contrast in styles between him and Nuno Espirito Santo is clearly stark.
Wayne Rooney noticed improvements in Forest under Postecoglou during yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Burnley, but wins are badly needed at this stage.
There were some positives to take from the draw against the Clarets, and fans perhaps need to realise that this will be a slow process when it comes to gelling under a new manager.

Nottingham Forest man shows he’s perfect for Ange Postecoglou despite draw
It’s fair to say that Oleksandr Zinchenko might have done better with the goal that Burnley scored, but the wet conditions meant he was unable to clear the ball off the goal line.
However, the Ukraine international’s overall performance was largely impressive and it was interesting just how much he was involved.
Postecoglou likes his full-backs to cut inside during the contest, and with Zinchenko able to play in midfield, it was no surprise to see him instrumental in this contest.
The 27-year-old has no fewer than 128 touches, which for a full-back is quite remarkable and clearly, he fits what Postecoglou is looking for in a full-back.
Zinchenko looks set to be added to the Forest squad for the Europa League, and based on this performance, he would be a welcome addition for the campaign.
Oleksandr Zinchenko stats vs Burnley
It was great to see Zinchenko do relatively well against Burnley, as Forest will need him fit and ready for the season, with Ola Aina now injured for three months.
It’s never been a secret that Zinchenko is better going forward than he is defensively, but it’s also worth noting that, in a technical sense, he was very efficient too.
| Oleksandr Zinchenko stats vs Burnley | Total |
| Minutes | 90 |
| Touches | 128 |
| Passes | 91 |
| Pass Accuracy | 95.6% |
| Tackles | 3 |
| Clearances | 5 |
Zinchenko needs to ensure that he brushes up on his defensive attributes and as he receives more minutes in the team, he should be capable of growing in confidence.
The number of touches he made yesterday suggests that he’s going to be extremely useful for Forest and it will now be intriguing to see more of him this season.
