Nuno Espirito Santo has secured his next managerial role after being sacked by Nottingham Forest at the start of September.
The Portuguese manager is to take over at West Ham following the dismissal of Graham Potter on Saturday morning.
Espirito Santo will be in charge for West Ham’s fixture against Everton on Monday night.
Nuno had a great reputation at Forest after guiding them back into European competition for the first time in 30 years.
Now, the Garibaldi faithful have taken their thoughts online and have reacted to the news of Nuno joining the Hammers.

Nottingham Forest fans divided on Nuno Espirito Santo becoming West Ham manager
Nottingham Forest fans have taken to social media to react to Nuno Espirito Santo becoming West Ham manager.
The reactions across the fanbase are mixed, with many sad to see him at another club, but others questioning the 51-year-old’s decisions.
One fan said, “I’m not emotionally ready to see Nuno go to West Ham.”
Meanwhile, another supporter stated, “Nuno to West Ham then,” followed by a crying emoji.
Another fan questioned Espirito Santo’s public criticisms of Evangelos Marinakis and Edu, saying, “So Nuno fell out with our owner after giving him the best transfer window in living memory but is happy to go to West Ham.”
These sentiments were echoed by another Forest fan who said, “Good luck to Nuno at West Ham. Did great things with us. And a large aspect as to why we’ve had the experiences we’ve had the past few days. Having said that, opting to not want to work for an ownership model that backs you for one who will likely ask you to make do is… different.”
There are also many Forest fans who are not happy with Nuno Espirito Santo taking over at West Ham.
One supporter said, “Disrespectful from Nuno to manage a direct rival within a couple of weeks of engineering a sacking from Forest. He has lost quite a bit of respect from me. He could have taken time out or even gone abroad.”
Additionally, another Tricky Trees fan stated, “Nuno will get no well wishes from me. Put himself before the club. Threw his boss under the bus in the media, created uncertainty and refused to play certain players. Completely tossed that West Ham game off & ultimately pushed for a payoff.”
West Ham job does not make sense for Nuno Espirito Santo
After criticising Nottingham Forest’s recruitment, despite the number of arrivals Marinakis brought in, it does not make sense that Espirito Santo would then go into an even worse situation.
The 51-year-old has been warned his transfer concerns will be worse at West Ham, as fans of the Hammers are currently protesting against their owners, with a lack of investment cited as one reason.
Espirito Santo will no doubt be able to get better performances out of a West Ham side that many of their supporters view as weak, but if he can manage to obtain Premier League survival this season, the question would be, what is next?
It would not be a surprise to see him being upset at West Ham’s recruitment next summer, just as he was this summer with Forest.
