Nottingham Forest lost to Sunderland, and for Ange Postecoglou, the outlook is pretty bleak.
The new Forest head coach was taking charge of Forest on home soil for the first time since he replaced Nuno Espirito Santo.
He saw his team beaten 1-0 by Sunderland, with Neco Williams bemoaning referee Tony Harrington for his part in the result that saw Forest remain without a win since the opening day of the season.
Forest’s next three games are against Newcastle, Chelsea and Bournemouth, with the prospects of wins in those matches looking like a toss-up between slim and none.
Postecoglou has been given yet more questions than answers after the latest defeat, this time to the Black Cats, and one player is providing a serious dilemma.

Nottingham Forest must take brutal stance over Chris Wood
Forest are creating chances in these games that are slipping from their grasp but right now, they’re not being converted.
Against Sunderland, Wood was guilty of missing a gilt-edged chance after a stunning delivery from Omari Hutchinson.
It was a header that suggested Wood is either struggling for confidence after being dropped in the Europa League, or someone who is way beyond his best as a Premier League striker.
Sentiment can only take you so far in football and although Wood scored 20 Premier League goals last season, he clearly isn’t the best option to spearhead the Forest attack right now.
With Igor Jesus bang in form and Arnaud Kalimuendo signing from Rennes with a solid reputation, Wood’s days as the top Forest striker now look long gone.
Postecoglou is in trouble if he doesn’t beat Midtjylland
Jesus is the man who should be starting up front for Forest, given that in two starts he’s bagged himself four goals.
The talented striker should not have been dropped to the bench for the visit from Sunderland, and when he did come on from the bench, he struggled to make an impact.
Wood deserves to be part of the Forest squad and there is a role for him when the Reds need a different option in their attack.
However, Postecoglou must now stop starting him in the Premier League if the Reds are to revive their current form any time soon, with his wasteful approach stifling Forest’s chances of points.
